Charming house in the historic center, with its own vineyard

In the historic core of Morcote, the Pearl of Lake Lugano, we are pleased to offer this charming stone house, set among the lanes and strecie that wind down to the lake. Fully renovated in 2010 with respect for its original vaults, fireplaces and wooden floors, the house extends over four levels. It offers approximately 225 m² of living space, plus a further 74 m² comprising the grotto, cellar and service rooms.

Beyond the front door, a room arranged around a stone fireplace serves as both entrance and small sitting room. On one side lies the eat-in kitchen, on the other the living room: 30 m² beneath a shallow vault with a stucco rosette, where a second fireplace accompanies the dining table and the library. A shower room completes the floor.

On the first floor, a vaulted room of 32 m², currently used as a sitting room and study, adjoins a bedroom and a second study suited to guests, served by a bathroom with tub.

The top floor is given over entirely to the principal bedroom: 39 m² under the eaves, opening onto a loggia from which the view passes over the rooftops of the village to the lake. A 15 m² dressing room and a bathroom with tub and shower complete the floor.

On the lower level, the brick-vaulted grotto sits alongside the cellar, laundry and plant room. Outside, a few steps from the house, a courtyard of about 36 m² offers an open-air space among the village houses. Higher up, a terraced vineyard of approximately 1,000 m², facing the lake, lends itself to the cultivation of vines.

The car park, public parking and the Post Bus stop are a short distance away, and Lugano is a few minutes' drive. A house of rare character in one of Switzerland's most beautiful historic villages.
